SHHH - Trailer

SHHH - Trailer

Firstly, we went behind the mansion to do some filming with the football goals then we filmed the scene of Me scoring a goal. After that, we went to the changing rooms and filmed me, who scored the goal then getting assaulted by a Jackson who is a serial killer in the film. Then we went back to the  media room and film with the green screen where Keech and Laurence used a greenscreen to make it look like a news interview. overall it was very fun and different.

Cuffs Q1 and Q2

Analyse how camerawork is used in the extract to create meaning. Refer to at least two examples from the extract in your answer. (5 marks)

2. Analyse how far the extract creates a humorous view of policing. In your answer you must:

  • analyse aspects of the extract using examples to support your analysis

  • make judgements and draw conclusions about how far these aspects create a humorous view of policing. (10 marks)

Example of how to answer on camerawork:
    •   sweeping aerial shot of Brighton pier connoting a glamorous seaside location

    •   bird’s eye view of the small police car driving through

the streets of Brighton on a call-out, carrying connotations such as danger, excitement, and urgency

    •   the use of an over-the-shoulder shot of the beach sign, as we arrive at the sign at the same time as the police officer, connoting surprise and anticipation of what is to come

    •   slow pan / track of the new recruit police officers as they are introduced to the audience connoting authority and power

    •   high angle long shot of the beach scene showing the police officer outnumbered by the group of men on the stag do

    •   any other relevant analysis

    • Q1)
    • From the first few shots which are reaction shots we can tell that joe is rather annoyed and that Mr Banaji is awkward as he knows what he is doing is wrong but he doesn't care as when he needed the policeman's help they didn't help and when they want his help they expect that, however the reaction shot of joe after she hears what happens to his family she doesn't get angry or annoyed about anything she just looks down in disappointment about what her police department have done to upset this.
    • Another example is the camera shot to show when Joe and Simon talk outside the interview room they argue and then when he denies helping her, the reaction shot shows how this really affects her and get under her skin, it obvious she hates his attitude and finds him very annoying.
Q2)  The extract uses quite dark humour to entertain the audience as its quite hard to bring in normal humour as its very serious and wouldn't quite fit the extract. An example of this would be when they are trying to arrest the girl who stole cigarettes, this girl realises that the guy is not very experienced and works with that and tries to make it look like she is being taken advantage of or sexually assaulted, this quite funny but only if you understand the dark humour otherwise it becomes rude and awkward, some people may take it like this however I understood the humour and found it rather entertaining.

Another example of where the extract uses humour would be when inside the police station the Italian officer goes up to the counter and get the person at the counter goes you still have your grandmas lasagne between your teeth, this is quite funny as its becauase through his heritage he is Italian and that is a rather stereotypical thing to say that Italian grandmas make their kids lasagne. This is only funny as its dark humour and it creates a good part of banter inside the station and is very interesting for the viewer.

In conclusion i find the extract very funny, however it could always be taken in a different manner by the viewer all depending on whether they find dark humour funny and if they understand it because if they don't they will find it rather strange and it may just fly straight over their head.

    2.  Another  example of  women in those times is the picture of the queen when she is looking like angry and annoyed in the magazine this is all because of the way her facial expressions look, as she seems to have a frown on her face

the bad person in the second magazine as she has a darker face and she looks like she is frowning to either imply she is angry or the bad person in that specific magazine.

Music Video Comparison (Sk8ter Boi Vs Teenage Dirtbag)

    Music video comparison

In the totally different music videos the camera technique is employed otherwise to inform a precise story. for example, in teenage dirtbag the cameras area unit fixated and area unit centred on the bound person the song is talking regarding. So, once they name the lady ‘Noelle’ they show her on camera, once they name the jock who’s the girl’s swain they show him on the video acting all powerful and massive. they create him look like he's larger than everybody else and he's the ‘top dog.’ Also, within the video they use some split screens showing 2 or additional scenes promptly.

However, in Sk8ter Boi the camera shots area unit speedy as they chase the lady browsing the streets and alleyways. This shows North American nation that, in Sk8ter Boi they're clearly employing a totally different technique. throughout the music video they in the main show her and have one or two individuals within the back as a part of her ‘Gang’. though they're each terribly robust, upbeat music videos there's a really huge distinction through the themes. In teen dirtbag its set in an exceedingly highschool with the band fooling around them and that they embrace all the scholars as ‘fans’ and therefore the students area unit clearly engaged by them Then in Sk8ter Boi the video is ready in an exceedingly busy town/street wherever the lady is making an attempt to point out that she doesn’t care which she is reckless as she smashes a window at the tip of the video. Overall, i feel that they're each nice music videos with a transparent setting of what the ‘story’ is regarding and that i would suggest individuals to look at them.
